A Hybrid Method for Inverse Scattering for Sound-soft Obstacles in R
نویسنده
چکیده
We present a hybrid method to numerically solve the inverse acoustic soundsoft obstacle scattering problem in R3, given the far-field pattern for one incident direction. This method combines ideas of both iterative and decomposition methods, inheriting advantages of each of them, such as getting good reconstructions and not needing a forward solver at each step. A related Newton method is presented to show convergence of the method and numerical results show its feasibility.

The factorization method for obstacles with a-priori separated sound-soft and sound-hard parts
We consider the direct and inverse scattering problem for obstacles with mixed Dirichletand Robin boundary conditions. We derive an explicit and fast obstacle visualization by the factorization method in the case when sound-soft and soundhard scatterers are a-priori geometrically separated.
متن کاملOn the Far Field in Obstacle Scattering
We will establish far eld identities for the scattering of time-harmonic acoustic waves from sound-soft and sound-hard obstacles and will illustrate two applications of these identities for the inverse obstacle scattering problem. Firstly, we will provide an alternate proof for the Fr echet diierentiability of the far eld pattern with respect to the boundary. Secondly, we will connect the ident...
متن کاملLocal stability for soft obstacles by a single measurement
We consider an inverse scattering problem arising in target identification. We prove a local stability result of logarithmic type for the determination of a sound soft obstacle from the far field measurements associated to one single incident wave.
متن کاملA Point-source Method for Inverse Acoustic and Electromagnetic Obstacle Scattering Problems
We present the mathematical foundation for a point-source method to solve some inverse acoustic and electromagnetic obstacle scattering problems in three dimensions. We investigate the inverse acoustic scattering problem by a sound-soft and a sound-hard scatterer and the inverse electromagnetic scattering problem by a perfect conductor. Two independent approaches to the method are presented whi...
متن کاملInverse scattering problems and the enclosure method
We show that the enclosure method introduced here is applicable to inverse scattering problems in two dimensions. Using the single set of the Cauchy data of a solution of the Helmholtz equation, we give some formulae for extracting the value of the support functions of unknown sound-hard polygonal obstacles and piecewise linear cracks from the set.
